Into Thin Air - Steamboat Springs!

After an early flight and several hours of driving we arrived at the Mueller's beautiful house in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We went fly fishing, hiking, hot spring swimming, and explored the beautiful rustic downtown area.

Bettie died of dysentery and we lost two oxen while we tried to ford the river.

USVI Part 2 - The BVI!

Sorry about the lack of recent updates.... Things were a bit hectic when we got back! Here's the rest of our trip!

On our last day, we took a trip to the British Virgin Islands, specifically one called Virgin Gorda

We enjoyed a lunch of Conch Burger at a restaurant above the baths. A rooster wandered amonst the tables and ate dropped food scraps.

The Baths are a large area of rocks that have been worn and tossed by the sea over millions of years

Oh right! And it was New Years Eve! Sadly, we were exhausted and ended up going to bed at 9:30pm. But we had a delicious last dinner and a bottle of champagne and we celebrated New Years at the same time as people in Iceland.

A Week in the U.S. Virgin Islands! Part 1: Yurtastic Snorkeloo

Hello from St. Thomas! We wanted to share some of the highlights of our trip so far....

On the USVI, steering wheels go on the left, and people drive on the left. The reason for this has something to do with retraining donkeys to go around the island.

We often encountered livestock running around on the road. 5 points each.

Cactieus Expecto Patronus. Cacti can be found all over the island.

We spent our second and third nights in this yurt. The view was exquisite. The stargazing was fantastic.

Lizards everywhere!

This is called a Dos-a-rita, where you take a perfectly good margarita and ruin it by upending a Corona into it.

This cat tried to take shelter in our yurt on two separate occasions. We named him Croix (pronounced Croy)

We cooked our own dinner one night. Lime Mahi with roasted veggies, Doritos, and beer!

The best night sky we have ever seen. We spent most of our night sitting outside watching the stars.

All the 'dip' signs along the road had been vandalized with funny prefixes.... 'Skinny Dip', 'Clam Dip', 'Stinky Donkey Dip' to name a few

We were glad we rented a Jeep. The roads tilt at insane angles. That water bottle is upright.
